Alberta, Prince Edward Island and British Columbia have selected students under the Provincial Nominee Program.
In 1998, the PNP was set up to help choose economic immigrants likely to settle in a nominated province and contribute to the local workforce and economy.
Provinces can participate in this Provincial Nominee Program because immigration responsibilities are shared between federal and provincial governments. Nominated candidates who get a local nominee letter must apply to IRCC for permanent resident status and if you have a provincial nomination by the concerned authority then it will increase the chances of approval.
In the federal Express Entry Canada pool, Candidates have a special advantage in PNP. Nominated Candidates who receive a provincial nomination automatically gain an extra 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System, increasing the chances of accepting an Invitation to apply( ITA ).
Provincial immigration results ( 30th Sep- 5th Oct)
33 candidates were selected through the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program ( AAIP ) on 3rd October. Nominated Candidates were chosen from the Agriculture field and with a job offer category in Alberta. Candidates have to be a part of the Express Entry group.
In Alberta Immigration Program, Candidates require a minimum score of 313 to receive a letter of nomination.
This draw marked the first time they selected a fellow based on the Express Entry category for Agriculture and Agri-food work experience. In other ways, Express Entry category-based draws align with existing PNP streams from all the corners of Canada and it helps the federal government of Canada to streamline and efficiently bring economic immigrants to fill most required and urgent job openings in the country.
