The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has once again invited skilled workers through the Express Entry system, this time focusing on candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) category.
In the most recent draw, 1,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates who met the eligibility requirements for the Canadian Experience Class. To receive an invitation in this round, candidates needed to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 533 and must have created their Express Entry profile before 4:16 a.m. (UTC) on March 21, 2025.
Key Details of the Latest Draw
This draw marks the 11th CEC draw conducted by IRCC this year. Interestingly, it is also the fourth consecutive CEC draw to issue 1,000 invitations with a CRS cut-off score remaining close to 533 or 534.
Another notable highlight is that this month witnessed two separate CEC draws, something that has not occurred since August. The previous one took place on October 1, while this latest round adds to the growing momentum of Express Entry invitations in recent weeks.

Context of Recent Draws
The most recent draw follows several other targeted rounds held in October. These include:
- A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on October 27
- A Healthcare and Social Services draw on October 15
- Another PNP-specific draw on October 14
As of now, IRCC has issued a total of 74,485 ITAs through the Express Entry system this year.
IRCC’s Focus in 2025
Throughout the year, IRCC has maintained a consistent approach by balancing draws across different categories. The majority of ITAs have been distributed among Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, Canadian Experience Class (CEC) applicants, and French-language proficiency streams.
Here’s a summary of the draw distribution so far this year:
| Draw Type | Number of Draws |
| Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) | 20 |
| Canadian Experience Class (CEC) | 11 |
| French-language proficiency | 6 |
| Healthcare and Social Services | 5 |
| Education | 2 |
| Trade | 1 |
When looking at the total invitations issued, the French-language category and the Canadian Experience Class have been the leading contributors to Canada’s skilled immigration intake.
| Category | ITAs Issued to Date |
| French-language proficiency | 30,000 |
| Canadian Experience Class | 22,850 |
| Healthcare and Social Services | 9,792 |
| Provincial Nominee Program | 7,249 |
| Education | 3,500 |
| Trade | 1,250 |
Why This Matters for Applicants
The steady frequency of CEC draws highlights IRCC’s intention to give more opportunities to candidates who already have Canadian work experience and are better integrated into the local labour market. These candidates often find it easier to transition into permanent residency, as they have already adapted to Canadian culture and employment standards.
With two CEC draws in a single month, it’s a promising sign for those currently working in Canada on temporary permits who are seeking permanent residency.
