Quebec Skilled Worker PNP
Quebec is Canada's largest Province with multicultural population. It is laden with vast forests, rolling hills and countless waterways. Quebec is often called the Europe of North America. The official language of Quebec is French.
Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) is the province's most popular immigration pathway. Immigrants who are looking to migrate to this province need to submit an Expression of interest (EOI) profile to its Immigration Ministry also known as MIDI. Under the new program, the processing time takes less than 12 months of time to complete.
There are a few unique categories based on Quebec's culture that the applicant needs to qualify. Unlike the federal skilled immigrant program, Quebec's Skilled Immigrant program has no list of eligible occupations. Applicants need not have a valid job offer.
If you are applying under the QSWP, then you need to obtain first your Immigration Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) from Quebec province and then apply for the PR with Federal Government.
Applicants interested in migrating to Quebec, must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) in their official Portal called ARIMA. Once EOI is processed, the application enters the pool/bank. Profiles in the bank will receive a score.
The applicant to qualify requires a minimum score of 50 if he/she is single and 59 if he/she is married. The points are calculated based on the applicant's age, education, area of training/domain, his/her dominance on French language, spouse age, spouse education, spouse's area of training, experience, relatives in Quebec, number of children they have and the financial backup he/she can show.
It would be nice for the applicants to have Quebec Work Experience and a job offer as they add to the total points of the applicant. However, having these two is not mandatory.
Once his EOI is approved, the applicant receives a notification based on his points to submit his application and documents. Once the application gets approved, the applicant receives the CSQ. He then gets the ITA, following which he needs to apply for the VISA.
Who Qualifies To Apply As Quebec Skilled Immigrant?
Anybody who is 18 and above, with a fluency in French can apply for Quebec
Profiles in the bank will receive a score based on factors which include-
- skilled work experience
- education and training
- proficiency in French or English
- financial self-sufficiency
In order to be considered, all profiles will have to meet the minimum required score of two points in education (secondary school general diploma) and one point is awarded for financial self-sufficiency.
Under the new program, a Valid Employment Offer increases the points, however, it is not a mandatory requirement. Children, Family and Financial Self-sufficiency also increase your points score.
