Manitoba Work Experience Pathway

The Manitoba Work Experience Pathway of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program aims at skilled temporary workers as well as graduates in the province who desire to settle as permanent residents in Canada.

Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway

The Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway aims at skilled workers abroad whose knowledge is required in Manitoba.

Skilled Worker Overseas

Qualified and talented workers who have family or friends, can show work experience, or have Manitoba invitation, and who have a score of no less than 60 points based on the eligibility factors can demonstrate a robust connection to Manitoba, including Age, Language Proficiency, Work Experience, Education, and Adaptability.

  • Express Entry Pathway
  • Human Capital Pathway

These candidates are eligible to receive MPNP (short for Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program). Notifications are given for the applicants who meet the EOI (Expression of Interest) scores. Following are a couple of new pathways:

Express Entry Pathway

Express Entry candidates, who are eligible under another MPNP stream and who meet Express Entry requirements with an Express Entry profile, can benefit from this pathway. Candidates will be expected to exhibit experience in an occupation, which is listed in the province’s In-demand Occupations, list, and have a strong family connection to Manitoba.

Human Capital Pathway

This pathway will be open to skilled workers from foreign countries with experience in Manitoba’s In-demand Occupations, and who can demonstrate the capability to establish by creating robust labour market connections to those occupations. The LMIA approves the job offer.

International Education Stream

The International Education Stream (IES) aims at recent graduates from selected post-secondary institutions located in the Manitoba province. Candidates for this category are required to have some work experience or business management experience from Manitoba. It could be either completed after graduation or during their study program as part of an internship or co-op. Listed below are three pathways within this stream:

  1. Manitoba Career Employment Pathway
  2. Manitoba Graduate Internship Pathway
  3. Manitoba Student Entrepreneur Pathway

Career Employment Pathway

International graduates of colleges and universities in the Manitoba province can look to the Career Employment Pathway as their potential route to permanent residence.

Graduate Internship Pathway

The Graduate Internship Pathway provides nomination pathways for international graduates of a Master’s or Doctoral (Ph.D.) study program who then complete an internship contributing to the innovation of the industry in the province of Manitoba.’

Student Entrepreneur Pathway

The International Student Entrepreneur Pilot provides students (who have graduated in Manitoba) from all around the world the opportunity to pursue entrepreneurship.

Business Investor Stream

Entrepreneur Pathway

The Business Investor stream in Manitoba is for entrepreneurs and investors who desire to buy or start a business in the province. Successful applicants to the Entrepreneur Pathway will receive a temporary work permit and sign a business performance agreement for the purchase of an existing business in Manitoba or start a new business.

Farm Investor Pathway

The Manitoba Farm investor pathway provides a route to permanent residence in Canada for investors and entrepreneurs who desire to buy or start a farming business in Manitoba.

Key Requirements for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

The eligibility requirement for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program depends on the stream you are applying for. The invitations are issued to those applicants meeting the eligibility norms. To get the Provincial Nomination, the applicant is required to fulfill the provincial and central government criteria of selection. Following are the eligibility requirements:

  • The Expression of Interest (EOI) score of no less than 60 points out of 100
  • The least education which is required as per the job profile
  • The minimum required language score in French or English
  • The skills should be in one of the occupations mentioned in the in-demand list
  • A letter from a Manitoba employer for a permanent job or a connection in Manitoba of a family or friend
  • Show a settlement plan and aspiration to live in the Manitoba province
  • The candidate should be 18 years of age at the time of submitting the application

Who Cannot Apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program?

You cannot apply for the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program if:

  • You are working in the province of Manitoba, PNP on the work permit.
  • You are a Canadian PR holder or citizen’s spouse.
  • Your Manitoba PNP gets refused within the last six months and you are not able to justify the reason.
  • You are already in the process with other PNP
