The draw represents another step in Canada’s targeted immigration strategy, which aims to address labour market needs by selecting candidates with valuable Canadian work experience.

Lower CRS Score Creates More Opportunities

This marks the second Express Entry draw specifically for Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience in 2026.

Compared with the first draw held on March 5, the latest invitation round featured a significantly lower CRS cut-off score:

  • March 5, 2026: CRS 429 – 250 ITAs
  • July 10, 2026: CRS 392 – 500 ITAs

The 37-point drop in the CRS requirement, along with the increase in invitations, may provide greater opportunities for eligible senior managers already working in Canada to receive permanent residence invitations.

Express Entry Trends in 2026

With this latest draw, IRCC has now conducted 38 Express Entry rounds in 2026.

This year’s invitation rounds have largely focused on candidates who are already established in Canada or possess skills that meet the country’s economic priorities.

The main Express Entry categories targeted this year include:

  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)
  • French-language proficiency
  • Healthcare and Social Services
  • Physicians with Canadian work experience
  • Senior Managers with Canadian work experience
  • Skilled Trades

This approach reflects Canada’s continued efforts to retain experienced workers and address labour shortages across key sectors.

More Than 92,000 Invitations Issued in 2026

To date, IRCC has issued 92,101 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system during 2026.

The invitations have been distributed across the following categories:

  • Canadian Experience Class: 43,250 ITAs
  • French-Language Proficiency: 35,500 ITAs
  • Healthcare and Social Services: 8,000 ITAs
  • Provincial Nominee Program: 5,939 ITAs
  • Trades: 3,000 ITAs
  • Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience: 750 ITAs
  • Physicians with Canadian Work Experience: 662 ITAs

What This Means for Applicants
