670 candidates were invited to the sixth Express Entry draw of December to apply in the category-based selection draw.
This category-based draw was for candidates in the transport occupations. A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 435 was required by the candidates to be eligible for an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
Earlier than this draw, 5 Express Entry draws have already taken place in December. On December 6, The First Express Entry Draw Since October 2023 was Held by Canada in which candidates with a minimum CRS score of 561 were invited. 1000 Express Entry Candidates Were Invited by IRCC on 7 December, it was a category-based draw for French-speaking candidates with a minimum CRS score of 470. 5900 Candidates Were Invited in Third Express Entry Draw of the Week with a minimum CRS score of 481 points in a category-based selection draw for STEM occupations.
1325 Candidates Were Invited to the Latest All Program Express Entry Draw which was held on 18 December. A minimum CRS score of 542 points was required for this draw. 1000 Candidates Were Invited in the Category-Based Selection Draw on December 19. It was second category-based draw for trades occupations this year, one such draw took place on August 3 in which 1500 candidates were invited.
All these draws in December took place after a long pause in Express Entry draws since October 2023. The reason for the pause was not confirmed by IRCC. An IT issue happened with the Express Entry profile builder for candidates who had received an ITA and were trying to upload their final application on the website of IRCC as per the tweet of IRCC on November 14 but it was fixed soon on November 16. The draws did not resume as was widely expected.
IRCC may delay an Express Entry draw for various possible reasons, such as updates to the Comprehensive Ranking System, staffing changes, IT issues, etc.
