Canada Invites 271 Physicians Through Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted another targeted Express Entry draw, issuing 271 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to physicians with Canadian work experience seeking permanent residence.

The draw was held on June 24, 2026, and specifically targeted physicians who have gained professional experience in Canada. Candidates invited in this round were required to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 223 and must have created their Express Entry profile before 6:13 p.m. UTC on May 31, 2026.

This marks the second Express Entry draw in 2026 dedicated to physicians with Canadian work experience, highlighting Canada’s continued focus on addressing healthcare workforce shortages and retaining skilled medical professionals already contributing to the country’s healthcare system.

Recent Express Entry Activity

The physicians-focused draw follows several major Express Entry rounds conducted throughout June, including:

  • June 23, 2026: Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw – 4,000 ITAs issued with a CRS cut-off score of 516.
  • June 22, 2026: Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw – 955 ITAs issued with a CRS cut-off score of 730.

Throughout 2026, IRCC has continued prioritizing candidates with Canadian work experience, provincial nominations, French-language proficiency, and skills in sectors facing labour shortages.

To date, IRCC has conducted 33 Express Entry draws in 2026. The distribution of draws includes:

More Than 85,000 Invitations Issued in 2026

So far in 2026, IRCC has issued a total of 85,067 Invitations to Apply through Express Entry. The majority have been issued through Canadian Experience Class and French-language proficiency draws.
