In 2026, Altona/Rhineland expanded its priority sectors, adding Health as a new focus area.

Steinbach continues to prioritize six major sectors in 2026.

Who Is Eligible Under RCIP?
The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) is a five-year federal program (2025–2030) designed to help rural communities outside Quebec address labour shortages.
There are 14 participating communities across Canada, each selecting:
- Up to 6 priority sectors
- Up to 25 priority occupations
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
1. Job Offer from a designated employer
2. Work Experience – Minimum 1 year (1,560 hours) in the last 3 years
3. Education – Canadian credential or ECA for foreign education
4. Language Requirements (Based on TEER):
- TEER 0–1 → CLB 6
- TEER 2–3 → CLB 5
- TEER 4–5 → CLB 4
5. Proof of Funds:
- Single applicant → $10,507
- Family of seven → $27,806
6. Demonstrated intent to live in the selected community
