The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its first immigration draw of the year on January 15, inviting skilled workers through its Skilled Worker Stream.
In this draw, Manitoba focused on candidates who had received a direct invitation from the province under a strategic recruitment initiative. Only applicants who declared this invitation correctly in their Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles were considered.
Draw highlights
A total of 55 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) were issued in this round. Invitations were shared across both Skilled Worker pathways:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
The largest share of invitations, around 38% went to candidates invited under the Employer Services recruitment initiative, highlighting Manitoba’s strong focus on employer-led hiring.
Invitation breakdown by recruitment initiative
- Employer Services: 21
- Regional Communities: 15
- Ethnocultural Communities: 9
- Francophone Community: 7
- Temporary Public Policy for Prospective PNP Candidates (TPP): 3
Out of the total invitations issued in EOI Draw #262, 10 candidates also held valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker validation codes.
Compared to Manitoba’s first draw of last year, which invited 197 candidates in early January, this draw reflects a more selective and targeted approach by the province at the start of the year.
Why some candidates may not have received an invitation
MPNP has clarified that eligible candidates may miss out on an LAA due to common issues such as:
- Expired or incorrectly entered English or French language test details; or
- Incorrect invitation numbers entered for strategic recruitment initiatives.
At Oasis Visas, we help candidates review their profiles, ensure accurate EOI submissions, and improve their chances of receiving provincial invitations. If you believe you qualify under Manitoba’s Skilled Worker Program, expert guidance can make a significant difference.
