The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has recently issued a total of 295 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through a series of draws conducted over a two-week period, from April 29 to May 8.
These draws covered six different immigration pathways and were designed to meet Alberta’s current labour market needs. The focus was primarily on priority sectors such as agriculture, aviation, and construction, as well as on healthcare professionals and rural workforce demands.
Highlights of AAIP Draws (April 29 – May 8)
During this time frame, the AAIP held six separate draws, each varying in the number of candidates invited and the minimum scores required. The lowest cut-off score recorded was 51.
Draw date | Stream or pathway | Number of invitations issued | Cut-off score |
8 May, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry | 35 | 53 |
6 May, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Aviation) | 20 | 51 |
5 May, 2025 | Rural Renewal Stream | 165 | 68 |
1 May, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Express Entry | 36 | 59 |
30 April, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Agriculture) | 19 | 64 |
29 April, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction) | 20 | 67 |
Two of the draws were specifically dedicated to healthcare workers, including those in both Express Entry-linked and non-Express Entry pathways under Alberta’s Dedicated Health Care Pathways. This reflects Alberta’s ongoing efforts to address shortages in the healthcare system.
Three additional draws targeted candidates in Alberta’s priority sectors through the Express Entry stream. These sectors include agriculture, aviation, and construction. Notably, this was the first draw of the year to prioritize construction workers, while earlier draws had focused on aviation and agriculture talent.
The final draw was held under the Rural Renewal Stream, which continues to play a key role in supporting Alberta’s rural communities. This particular draw issued 165 invitations marking the second-highest number for this stream so far in 2025. The highest number was 190 invitations, recorded in an earlier draw this year.
Alberta’s PNP Allocation for 2025
For 2025, Alberta received 4,875 nomination spaces from the federal government. This marks a significant decrease from 2024, when the province was allocated 9,750 nominations representing a 50% reduction.
Real-Time Updates from AAIP
Alberta regularly updates its immigration statistics on its official website, offering transparency around its nomination programs. Key information includes:
- Total nomination allocation for 2025
- Remaining nomination spaces
- Number of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in the pool
- Pending applications under review
Stream or pathway | 2025 nomination allocation | 2025 nomination spaces remaining | EOIs in the selection pool | Applications to be processed |
Dedicated Health Care Pathways (Express Entry and non-Express Entry) | 500 | 358 | 1,356 | 123 |
Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (all) | 405 | 281 | 3,757 | 243 |
Rural Renewal Stream | 950 | 601 | 3,623 | 1,948 |
Please note: When reporting figures for the Dedicated Health Care Pathways, Alberta combines data for both Express Entry and non-Express Entry streams. Similarly, for draws related to priority sectors (agriculture, aviation, and construction), statistics are reported collectively rather than separately by industry.
