This draw stands as the third-largest Express Entry draw of the year, following two other French-language proficiency draws held earlier on February 19 and March 21. The continued focus on French-speaking candidates highlights IRCC’s commitment to promoting linguistic diversity and supporting the objectives of Canada’s Official Languages Act, which encourages French-speaking immigration outside Quebec.
With this latest draw, the total number of invitations extended to French-language candidates in 2025 has reached 36,000, making them the top recipient group under the Express Entry system this year.
So far in October, this is the seventh draw conducted by IRCC. It follows recent rounds targeting other categories, including the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) on October 28, the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on October 27, and a Healthcare and Social Services draw on October 15.
In total, 80,485 ITAs have been issued through the Express Entry system this year. Most of the draws in 2025 have focused on PNP candidates, while others have been directed at CEC applicants, French-speaking candidates, and those from specific priority occupation categories such as healthcare, education, and trades.
