Alberta Issues Over 290 Invitations Across Key Sectors in Latest Immigration Draws

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) continues to actively invite skilled candidates, conducting five provincial draws between March 17 and March 27, 2026. In these rounds, more than 290 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued to candidates across multiple immigration pathways.

Key Streams Targeted in Latest Draws

The latest draws focused on high-demand sectors essential to Alberta’s economic growth. Invitations were issued through the following streams:

• Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction)
• Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Manufacturing)
• Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway
• Dedicated Health Care Pathway (non-Express Entry)
• Rural Renewal Stream

These draws highlight Alberta’s continued emphasis on attracting talent in healthcare, construction, manufacturing, law enforcement, and rural communities.

Draw Highlights (March 17–27, 2026)

A total of at least 298 invitations were issued across five draws, with varying cut-off scores:

• March 27: Law Enforcement Pathway – Minimum score 46 (less than 10 invitations)
• March 26: Rural Renewal Stream – Minimum score 50 (60 invitations)
• March 24: Dedicated Health Care Pathway – Minimum score 54 (102 invitations)
• March 19: Construction Sector – Minimum score 59 (109 invitations)
• March 17: Manufacturing Sector – Minimum score 50 (27 invitations)

AAIP Draw Trends in 2026

So far in 2026, Alberta has conducted 23 draws, with the majority of invitations issued under the Alberta Opportunity Stream. Notably, earlier draws held between February 26 and March 16 resulted in over 1,400 invitations, reflecting strong immigration activity this year.

Nomination Allocation and Remaining Spaces

For 2026, Alberta has received 6,403 nomination slots from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). As of April 1, 1,475 nominations have already been issued, leaving 4,928 spots still available.

The Alberta Opportunity Stream continues to dominate, accounting for over 53% of total nominations issued this year.

High Demand Reflected in Candidate Pool

Alberta remains one of the few provinces to publish detailed data on its immigration pool. As of April 1:

• Over 44,000 Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are in the selection pool
• 63.5% of candidates are in the Alberta Opportunity Stream
• More than 1,400 applications are currently awaiting processing

Alberta’s Immigration Focus for 2026

The province has confirmed its priority sectors for 2026, which include:

• Healthcare
• Technology
• Construction
• Manufacturing
• Aviation
• Agriculture

Additionally, rural immigration remains a major focus, with the Rural Renewal Stream targeting candidates who have job offers in designated communities.
