
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has continued its active immigration efforts by issuing 1,037 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) across six selection rounds held between June 17 and June 29, 2026. The latest invitations targeted skilled professionals working in some of Alberta’s most in-demand industries, including healthcare, aviation, technology, tourism and hospitality.
These latest draws demonstrate Alberta’s ongoing commitment to attracting skilled workers who can help address labour shortages and support the province’s economic growth.
Six AAIP Draws Conducted in June
The invitations were issued through several immigration streams and pathways, including:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Tourism and Hospitality Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream
- Accelerated Tech Pathway
- Priority Sectors Pathway (Aviation & Skilled Trades)
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway (Express Entry and Non-Express Entry)
Among all the pathways, the Alberta Opportunity Stream received the highest number of invitations, accounting for nearly 70% of all ITAs issued during these six draws.

One notable highlight was Alberta’s first aviation-focused draw of 2026, held on June 24, reflecting the province’s growing demand for professionals in the aviation and skilled trades sectors.
The healthcare sector also remained a major priority, with two separate draws inviting qualified healthcare professionals through both Express Entry and Non-Express Entry pathways.
Alberta Nears 10,000 Invitations in 2026
With these latest rounds, Alberta has now conducted 56 AAIP draws so far in 2026.
As of June 29, 2026, the province had invited 9,599 immigration candidates to apply for provincial nomination this year, highlighting Alberta’s continued focus on selecting skilled workers to meet provincial labour market needs.
Provincial Nomination Allocation Update
The federal government has allocated 6,403 nomination spaces to Alberta for 2026.
According to the provincial government, 3,261 nomination spaces had been used by June 30, leaving more than 3,100 nominations still available for the remainder of the year.

Alberta has also confirmed that additional nominations have been issued through special allocations, including 50 Practice-Ready Physicians and 12 Francophone candidates.
The province has acknowledged a minor discrepancy between its published total nomination count and the stream-wise figures and clarification is expected.
Large Candidate Pool Still Waiting
Demand for Alberta immigration remains strong.
As of June 30, 2026, the province reported:
- 37,497 Worker Expressions of Interest (WEOIs) in the candidate pool.
- Around 62.8% of these profiles belong to the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
- 1,466 provincial nomination applications remain under processing.
