Alberta Invites Hundreds of Skilled Foreign Workers in Latest AAIP Draws

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) conducted two provincial immigration draws on February 20 and February 24, 2026, issuing a total of 899 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible foreign workers.

These rounds marked:

  • The first 2026 selection under the Alberta Opportunity Stream – Priority Sectors, and
  • The first draw of the year under the Tourism and Hospitality Stream.

The draws represent Alberta’s 11th and 12th provincial selections of 2026.

The majority of invitations were issued to candidates working in priority sectors under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

2026 Nomination Status

As of February 26, 2026, Alberta has issued 612 nominations out of its total federal allocation of 6,403 nominations for the year. This leaves 5,791 nomination spaces remaining for 2026.

Currently, 1,032 applications are under processing and may result in further nominations if approved.

Worker Expression of Interest (EOI) Pool Update

As of February 26, 2026, there are 45,698 active Worker Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in the AAIP selection pool across all streams and pathways.

Once candidates submit an EOI, they enter the selection pool and wait for an invitation to submit a full provincial nomination application.

The AAIP has clarified that candidates may be invited under a different stream or pathway than originally selected in their EOI, provided they meet eligibility and selection requirements.
