
The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) has invited 743 eligible candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through seven immigration draws conducted between June 5 and June 15, 2026.
The invitations targeted skilled workers employed in key sectors, including healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture and rural communities, reflecting Alberta’s continued focus on addressing labour shortages and supporting economic growth.
Alberta Holds Seven Immigration Draws
The latest invitations were issued through multiple AAIP pathways, including:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream
- Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Express Entry
- Dedicated Healthcare Pathway – Non-Express Entry
- Rural Renewal Stream
- Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors Pathway
Among these, the Alberta Opportunity Stream issued the highest number of invitations, accounting for 462 invitations or more than 62% of all invitations released during this round of selections.

These targeted draws align with Alberta’s immigration priorities for 2026, with a strong emphasis on recruiting professionals in healthcare, manufacturing, agriculture and rural occupations.
Alberta Crosses 8,450 Invitations in 2026
With these latest draws, Alberta has now conducted 50 selection rounds in 2026 and has issued more than 8,453 invitations to eligible candidates seeking provincial nomination.
The province continues to use targeted immigration draws to attract skilled workers who can help meet labour market demands while supporting long-term economic development.
Provincial Nomination Allocation Update
For 2026, the federal government allocated 6,403 provincial nominations to Alberta under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
As of June 16, 2026:
- 2,869 nominations have already been issued.
- 3,534 nomination spaces remain available for the remainder of the year.

In addition to its regular allocation, Alberta has also reserved nomination spaces for practice-ready physicians and Francophone candidates through specialized immigration initiatives.
Strong Interest from Skilled Workers
Interest in Alberta’s immigration programs continues to grow. As of June 16, the province reported:
- 38,353 Worker Expressions of Interest (WEOIs) in its candidate pool.
- 1,536 provincial nomination applications currently awaiting processing.
The Alberta Opportunity Stream remains the most popular pathway, representing nearly two-thirds of all Worker Expressions of Interest submitted to the province.
