Eligibility Criteria For RCIP

Eligibility for RCIP is not much complex. Lets take a look at what are the perquisites for Rural community Immigration Pilot (RCIP):

1. Job Offer: Firstly, the person should have a valid job offer from an employer who is a part of the area coming under RCIP. The job offer should be valid, full time non-seasonal.

2. Relevant Work Experience: The person should have a minimum work experience of one year (1560 hours) within the last three years according to the government of Canada. The work experience must match the TEER (Training, Education, Experience, and Responsibilities) skill level of the job letter.

3. Educational Credential: The person must have a Canadian educational credential (secondary or post‑secondary) or a foreign credential equivalent, demonstrated via a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). The ECA must be issued within the 5 years of the application.

4. Language Proficiency Test: The person has to take a language test to give a proper idea about their knowledge and control over the language. It is mandatory to have English in proficiency test for RCIP (Rural Community Immigration Pilot). Instead of English, French is also required in some bilingual and francophone communities.

5. Settlement Funds: It is required that the person should demonstrate that they have enough money/funds to live and settle in the country that nominates them. Funds requirements vary from person to person. It highly depends on their family size and low cut off percentages defined by the government.

6. Intent to Reside: A genuine reason is required to settle in a community and contribute to its economic and social development. Different person can have different intent as per their intent decision has to be made.  

Exception for Work Experience:

International Graduates: The candidate may be exempt from the work experience requirement if graduated from a post-secondary program of at least two years in the community, studied full-time and resided in the community for at least 16 of the last 24 months
