The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its biggest provincial immigration draw of 2026 on July 16, issuing 2,146 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to eligible candidates seeking permanent residence through the province.

The latest draw invited international graduates, skilled workers in Manitoba, overseas applicants, and French-speaking candidates under multiple immigration pathways. It is also the largest MPNP selection round since September 2025, reflecting Manitoba’s continued efforts to address labour shortages and attract skilled talent.

Additionally, 825 invited candidates had an active Express Entry profile along with a valid Job Seeker Validation Code in their Expression of Interest (EOI).

Skilled Worker in Manitoba

A total of 1,982 invitations were issued under this pathway through three different selection categories.

1. Manitoba Post-Secondary Graduates

The majority of invitations 1,874 went to candidates who completed post-secondary education in Manitoba.

To qualify, applicants needed to:

• Graduate from an eligible Manitoba post-secondary institution (or have a spouse who graduated there).
• Score at least 825 points in the MPNP Expression of Interest system.

Applicants must provide supporting documents such as:

• Diploma or Degree
• Official Academic Transcript

This category represented nearly 95% of all invitations issued under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream.

2. Francophone Candidates

The province invited 84 French-speaking candidates.

Eligible applicants were required to:

• Select French as their communication language with MPNP.
• Submit valid French language test results.

This initiative supports Manitoba’s goal of increasing Francophone immigration to the province.

3. Occupation-Specific Healthcare Selection

Another 24 invitations were issued to candidates working in specific healthcare occupations.

Eligible National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes included:

• 31102 – General Practitioners and Family Physicians
• 31100 – Specialists in Clinical and Laboratory Medicine
• 31101 – Specialists in Surgery

Candidates employed in regulated healthcare professions must already hold the required provincial licensing or demonstrate they have completed the licensing process. Applications may be refused if licensing requirements are not met.

Skilled Worker Stream

The province also invited 86 candidates through strategic recruitment initiatives under:

• Skilled Worker in Manitoba
• Skilled Worker Overseas

Only candidates who had previously received invitations through approved Manitoba recruitment activities or the former Temporary Public Policy (TPP) were eligible.

The Graduate Internship Pathway invited 78 candidates.

Applicants must demonstrate they meet all eligibility requirements, including:

• Completion of a Master’s or PhD degree in Manitoba within the last three years.
• Successful completion of an eligible Mitacs Elevate or Mitacs Accelerate Internship, including the Accelerate Entrepreneur Program.
• Language proficiency equivalent to CLB/NCLC 7 or higher.

Supporting documentation will be required when submitting the provincial nomination application.

Why Some Eligible Candidates Were Not Invited

The Manitoba government noted that some candidates who appeared eligible may not have received an invitation due to issues in their Expression of Interest profile, including:

• Missing, invalid, or expired English or French language test information.
• Failure to include a valid invitation number for candidates claiming selection through a strategic recruitment initiative.

Applicants are encouraged to review their profiles carefully to ensure all required information is accurate and up to date before future draws.
