On March 12, 2026, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted a new immigration draw under its Skilled Worker Stream, inviting candidates who were directly selected through strategic recruitment initiatives.
Draw Results
In Expression of Interest (EOI) Draw #266, Manitoba issued 46 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to eligible candidates.
Invitations were issued under the province’s two Skilled Worker pathways:
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba
- Skilled Worker Overseas
To receive an invitation, candidates needed to indicate in their EOI profile that they had been invited by Manitoba through a strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.
Distribution of Invitations
Most invitations were issued through the Employer Services recruitment initiative, which accounted for about 37% of the total LAAs. The distribution was as follows:
- Employer Services: 17 LAAs
- Francophone Community: 12 LAAs
- Ethnocultural Communities: 9 LAAs
- Regional Communities: 6 LAAs
- Temporary Public Policy for Prospective PNP Candidates: 2 LAAs
The Temporary Public Policy allowed participating provinces to nominate foreign nationals for open work permits, helping them extend their work status while remaining in Canada. Manitoba’s participation in this policy officially ended in December 2025.
Among the 46 invitations issued, five candidates had a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code.
Comparison With Previous Draw
In comparison, the previous draw held on February 26, 2026, invited 72 candidates through the Skilled Worker Stream. This means Manitoba issued 36% fewer invitations in the latest round.
So far in 2026, Manitoba has issued a total of 249 LAAs through the MPNP.
Focus on Skilled Worker Stream
In 2026, the MPNP has continued to prioritize candidates through the Skilled Worker Stream, particularly those selected through strategic recruitment initiatives.
Why Some Candidates May Not Have Received an Invitation
Candidates who believe they met the selection criteria but did not receive an invitation may have encountered one of the following issues:
- Entering an invalid or expired language test number for an approved English or French test; or
- Providing an invalid strategic recruitment invitation number in their EOI profile.
Applicants are advised to review and update their Expression of Interest profile with correct information to improve their chances of receiving an invitation in future draws.
